Monthly E-Mail Update from the Tabor Family for April, 2009

Dear Friends and Family,

Hello from Cambodia! I hope and pray this message finds you all doing well. The Khmer New Year holiday is over, Easter is past, and things here are finally getting back to normal.

Nara & Grandpa Choy Program Moving Ahead!

An important part of our new Nara & Grandpa Choy project is the corresponding Sunday School curriculum. Lisa and her experience in children's work is a key part of making this happen. Working in cooperation with Troy, Lisa is going through each episode and checking that the key concepts in each are clearly communicated. Then, she is putting together lesson plans for each episode that include activities, memory verses, music and more! In the coming months we will begin testing some of these episodes and lessons in local Cambodian churches.

By effectively grounding the children of Cambodia's churches in the Word of God, we are building for the future of the Kingdom of God in Cambodia! Please pray for us as we continue to develop these exciting tools for the church!

Lisa Continues To Work With Children !

Lisa is finishing up Children's Church at the local international church, and beginning planning for the church's VBS program. Over the past few years the international community in Cambodia, and especially in the capitol, Phnom Penh, has grown significantly, and there is a very real need to minister to these families, especially to their children. Lisa has been involved in ministering to them through the international church (Sunday School, Children's Church, and VBS) and through Hope International School (chairman of the parent council for the school). Now, in addition to these various activities she is looking at new ways to reach out to these kids, and praying for God's leading and direction. One area she is considering is developing a camp program for third culture kids in our region. In early May Lisa will be attending a special conference in Thailand to discuss future children's ministry, both to children in the national church, and the children in the international community as well. Please pray with us for God's leading and direction as we continue to seek God's will in these areas.
